Scheduling 101
Course Request Information
As students begin to fill out their course requests for next school year and The Office of Student Services starts working on building a schedule, students are encouraged to look at the Official PVHS Course Guide for the 2023-2024 school year, which can be found below, to get a better idea of what courses they are most interested in taking. If there are any questions, please contact Mr. Pulliam immediately!
Application for Course Advancement
Paint Valley Middle and High School offer students the opportunity to advance in specific classes based on their previous academic performances in a variety of content areas. By advancing, students will be challenged in a unique way that is only appropriate for students who exhibit a strong interest and high level of achievement in a particular content area. By advancing past a current grade level course, into a higher level course, students are required to use higher level thinking skills and demonstrate the ability to explore more abstract concepts than their current class placement can provide. Students who want to advance should exhibit a positive attitude and engagement in classroom activities, as well as a willingness to demonstrate ownership of their learning.
In order to be eligible, students must fill out the application found below, achieve an A- average or higher in the previous class in that subject area, and score accelerated or advanced on the AIR test (from the 2022-2023 school year).Â
If you or your student are interested in advancing into a higher level course, please fill out the application below by June 1st, 2023 and either email it to Mr. Malachi Pulliam at malachi.pulliam@pvlsd.org or drop it off to him in the high school office.
